I have been working on the topic of flight reduction in academia since 2015, initiated and led ETH Zurich’s flight reduction project until autumn 2021 and was then, until the end of 2023, responsible for the "FlyingLess" network to support academic institutions in Germany to reduce their air travel emissions. I created several factsheets and a toolbox to support academic organisations in reducing air travel. This also resulted in two scientific publications (Görlinger et al., 2023; Wenger et al., 2025) that outline the process and measures to reduce business flights. I further advise organisations such as the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the NGO Climate Accelerator. This NGO supports aid organisations on their way to climate neutrality; in my role as associate expert I created a Toolkit about reducing air travel for aid organisations.

In 2024, I founded the non-profit company “iilo” for sustainability consulting; my focus is on supporting organizations on their way to net zero.
